The Day We Will Never Forget

September 11, 2001, is a day many of us will never forget. It is a day which marks a dark day in the history of the United States of America. It is a day where over 3,000 people lost their lives in a deliberate attack on our country. Now, 20 years after that devastating day, there is an attempt to minimize the events which unfolded and to change the narrative. We must never forget that this attack was directed at us because we cherish freedom and liberty. The actions of those who committed these heinous acts on that day, represents the depth of evil which can be manifested in a post-Genesis 3 world.
Thankfully we know that God is sovereign over all things and our hope is in an everlasting kingdom where sin and evil will no longer reign, but that does not mean we cannot stand against evil until that day comes. Whenever Israel would steer away from following God’s commands, prophets were sent to remind them of their history and God’s promises, as a means of calling them back to obedience. In a similar way, we must never forget the history of this nation and the blessings which have come as a result of upholding truth and justice. As Christians we are called to continually pursue and speak the truth.
